The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers along designated routes while adhering to schedules and traffic regulations. They provide excellent customer service, ensure the comfort and safety of passengers, and maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the bus. This role requires attention to detail, strong driving skills, and a commitment to passenger safety.
Key Duties and Requirements
- Operate a bus along assigned routes, adhering to schedules and traffic laws.
- Pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops, ensuring their safety while boarding and exiting.
- Provide excellent customer service, assist passengers with disabilities, and address inquiries or concerns.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment inside the bus.
- Report mechanical issues, delays, or accidents to supervisors promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols, including emergency procedures, and ensure passenger compliance with safety rules.
- Requires a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement. Prior experience as a driver and a clean driving record are preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
