The Sewage Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the sewage treatment facilities on offshore rigs or drilling platforms. This role ensures that wastewater is properly treated and disposed of, maintaining compliance with environmental regulations and safeguarding the health and safety of the crew.
Key Duties and Requirements
- Operate and monitor sewage treatment plants to ensure the proper treatment of wastewater and effluent.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on sewage treatment equipment, pumps, and filtration systems.
- Monitor and adjust plant processes to maintain optimal treatment efficiency.
- Perform regular water quality testing to ensure that effluent meets environmental and health standards.
- Ensure the proper disposal of treated sewage and waste, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of sewage treatment operations, maintenance activities, and inspections.
- Requires 2-3+ years of experience in sewage treatment plant operations, preferably in offshore or industrial environments. Certification in water treatment or sewage plant operations is beneficial.
