The Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the reverse osmosis desalination systems on offshore rigs or drilling platforms. This role ensures that the plant produces clean, potable water by operating filtration systems and monitoring water quality to meet health and safety standards.
Key Duties and Requirements
- Operate and monitor reverse osmosis desalination systems to produce potable water for the rig.
- Conduct regular tests on water quality, ensuring it meets safety and health standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on R.O. units and related equipment.
- Monitor system performance, adjusting settings and processes to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of water production, quality tests, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure the proper storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals used in the water treatment process.
- Requires 2-3+ years of experience in operating reverse osmosis systems, preferably in offshore or industrial settings. Certification in water treatment or plant operations is advantageous.
