The Duct Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing air ducts and related components for HVAC systems on offshore rigs or drilling platforms. This role ensures that ducting systems are built to specifications, properly fitted, and securely installed to maintain the efficiency of the HVAC system.
Key Duties and Requirements
- Fabricate and assemble air ducts, ventilation pipes, and other related components based on technical specifications and blueprints.
- Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal and other materials to create ductwork that meets system requirements.
- Install and secure ducts, ensuring proper alignment, sealing, and support within HVAC systems.
- Inspect duct systems to identify issues and perform repairs or modifications as necessary.
- Collaborate with HVAC technicians to ensure proper installation and functioning of duct systems.
- Follow safety protocols and industry standards while working with potentially hazardous materials and tools.
- Requires 2-4+ years of experience in duct fabrication, preferably in offshore or industrial environments. Knowledge of welding, sheet metal work, and HVAC systems is essential.
