The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on offshore rigs or drilling platforms. This role ensures that the crew’s living and working environments are comfortable and that all HVAC systems operate efficiently.
Key Duties and Requirements
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, ensuring they meet performance, efficiency, and safety standards.
- Inspect HVAC systems for issues such as leaks, clogs, or faulty components and resolve them promptly.
- Test HVAC systems to ensure optimal functioning, including checking airflow, temperature, and humidity control.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, including cleaning filters, coils, and drain lines.
- Monitor and adjust system controls to regulate heating and cooling performance.
- Maintain proper documentation for all service, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Requires 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Technician, preferably in offshore or industrial environments. HVAC certification (e.g., EPA Section 608) and knowledge of refrigeration and electrical systems are required.
