The A/C Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems on offshore rigs or drilling platforms. This role ensures that cooling systems are functioning properly to provide a comfortable environment for the crew, especially in extreme offshore conditions.
Key Duties and Requirements
- Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems on the rig.
- Inspect systems for leaks, corrosion, and damage, troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed.
- Clean and replace filters, check refrigerant levels, and test system performance to ensure efficiency.
- Perform regular maintenance on HVAC equipment to extend system life and ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure that cooling systems comply with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Requires 2-3+ years of experience as an A/C Technician, preferably in offshore or industrial environments. Certification in HVAC systems and refrigeration is essential.
