The Male Nurse on offshore rigs or drilling platforms provides medical support to the crew, assisting the Doctor in managing injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies. This role involves administering treatments, monitoring patient health, maintaining medical supplies, and promoting the overall health and safety of the crew.
Key Duties and Requirements
- Assist the Doctor in providing medical care, administering treatments, and conducting routine health checks.
- Monitor patient health, vital signs, and progress, providing updates to the Doctor as needed.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring proper dosages and timing.
- Respond to medical emergencies, providing first aid and stabilizing patients until further treatment can be provided.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for crew members.
- Ensure the medical facilities are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Assist with medical evacuations when required.
- Requires a nursing degree (RN, LPN, or equivalent) and valid nursing license. Experience in emergency or offshore medical care is preferred. First aid and advanced life support certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS) are required.
